MIDTERM EXAM

ANSWERS

1.  The family plays a very important role in a development of young children.  They are the one who teach, discipline and mold the behavior as well as the personality of a child. In theory of Sigmund Freud, he says that the family has a background knowledge and information to better understand typical facets of children's emotional development.  In other theory mentioned that family relationship has profound influenced in children's development.  This influence, maybe favorable or unfavorable, depending on the attitude of one family members, but on the attitudes of all family members.

2.  In young children, bullying is very common misbehavior.  A child who is fun of bullying other children inside the classroom setting may caused by different reasons:
First, the child may bullied from home, therefore adopt the behavior and tend to apply it through his/her classmate. For example, the child bullied with his/her siblings.  The tendency, children do the same thing in their peers or to other people.  Based on the principles of inferiority and superiority.  Therefore the child here tends to be superior at school yet, at home he tends to be inferior.
Second, the child may need a special attention, Therefore, bullying served as one of his way in catching attentions from others, specially from his classmates and children's attention.

3.  Assessment is the process of gathering, analyzing and interpreting data.  The data gathered are evaluated and contextual information.  The Global Educators truly make assessment credible if it is valid and reliable.  Valid, if the degree of authenticity of the context selected and the congruence of the context in the light of objective selected. And reliable, if the assessment instrument is yields consistent results.
It is not credible if the assessment is subjective and bias. For instances, In a grade 6 class, Teacher Mel gave an essay type examination to her pupils. As the examination was over, she collects the papers and started to check it one by one.  Teacher Mel rate each essay based on the neatness and how long it was, without even reading its content. After checking she returned it from the class. In this situation Teacher Mel tends to be bias and didn't exhibit a proper attitude in assessing her pupils.
In assessment, teacher must bear in mind the proper or accurate ways of conducting, administering and scoring them.  As what emphasized in Assessment of Learning- the General Criteria for selecting assessment instruments; "It must be relevant or valid and the test items must match the learning objective of the pupils."
